Children will have the opportunity to care for themselves and foster independence, a large part of school. Each child will be asked to wear a backpack to our group every day in order to familiarize themselves with the routine of unpacking. Each child will have a folder where notes will come back and forth from class to home, making a school home connection and fostering a sense of responsibility. Children will be asked to try things on their own or ask a friend before asking an adult, encouraging them to create relationships and problem solve with peers.
Children will have the opportunity to challenge themselves with the work provided at The Wonderers. Utilizing games and puzzles that hone in on classroom skills, children will be working towards benchmark goals while playing. Children will be challenged every day by trying something new whether it be an art project, tennis, bowling, mini-golf, or an organized outdoor play game! Children will be challenged by resolving conflict independently, working with different peers, meeting new people and trying new things!
The summer is a time for fun and there is endless fun in school as well! Every day children will enjoy games, free play, the opportunity to try to bowl, play mini-golf, and have open exploration of our classroom. There will be time for inquisitive minds to find things they are passionate about and try things they may not have known they were interested in!
